Accounts Payable Specialist - Nonprofit Organization

Location: Pleasant Hill, CA (Onsite)
Compensation: $26-$30 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-time

A mission-driven nonprofit in Pleasant Hill is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the full-cycle AP process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced with Blackbaud financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable
  • Review, code, and enter invoices into Blackbaud
  • Maintain accurate vendor files and reconcile statements
  • Prepare weekly check runs and electronic payments
  • Assist with month-end closing and AP-related reporting
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and nonprofit accounting standards
  • Support audit preparation as needed
  • Collaborate with program managers to resolve invoice discrepancies

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience (nonprofit AP strongly preferred)
  • Blackbaud (Financial Edge or similar) experience required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel skills required
  • Ability to work onsite in Pleasant Hill
